Yes he can and he was killed. Check out the trade paperback of THE DEATH OF SUPERMAN. Cover date of January 1993) He was killed by a creature from another universe called DOOMSDAY. I actually don't recall Superman ever being "killed" by cryptonite, wounded - yes, killed, no. The actually trade of this story isn't all that great. Superman supposedly died in Superman #75, only to be resurrected a few months later, convienently at the end of their World without a superman crossover. But yes Superman can be killed, kryptonite will kill him, put him under a red sun and he will lose his powers and then you could easly kill him with a bat or something just as blunt. And I guess if you have some deadly magic laying around that could kill him too due to his vulnerability to magic. But will superman ever die? No, he's a cash cow! MOOO!!!

kryptonite (which is debris/rock from the destruction of his native world of Kryptonite). A character named Doomsday also killed him a couple of years back, late 80s early 90s can't remember exactly. But as happened then he'll probably just get resurrected again.

and change the suns rays to red not yellow, that was a way that superman lost powers

If he can't be kill by human, surely he can die. But hear that superman died in the end of the comic series.

actually no. superman will always be an original superhero that lives in the hearts of the people who love him. even if he dies, somehow he will be revived by the comic artists.

Yes, certain types of Kryptonite, pieces of his native planet Krypton, can kill Superman here on earth, other types just weaken or drive him insane. (Red kills, yellow weakens, green drives to insanity)

Of course. First he must be exposed to kryptonite, then he can be killed just like any other human. Or, another being from krypton could probably kill him.
