Well many of the posters are right. It stops being a living hell roughly the morning after graduation.

Find a gay friendly college and life will be better.

Get a good career move to a gay friendly town and life will continue to improve.

High School is a living hell for most everyone. But in my observation the worse your High School experience the better your college and post college life.

So in short you will graduate and it will be oh so much better.

Well life in high school is always living hell for me being that I am what some people might refer to as a "nerd". I'm the type who's the best chess player in the school and always receives straight A's. Although I'm straight, I imagine your life is somewhat similar to mine. I do wish people could be more accepting of others. Don't worry too much though, it will all be over once you get out of that hellhole. All that's occuring is that their premature minds are still developing, and aren't quite capable of using empathy yet. I'm sure you have your own talents. Just try to exploit them and try your best with the cards you're dealt in life. Don't forget, high school is only a fraction of the life ahead of you. Do your best, go to college and get a great job.

Peace

College can help a *lot*. The Advocate publishes a college guide for LGBT students--I strongly recommend taking a look at that. While you're in high school, try and find friends, even if you have to go online for them. (Be careful about meeting them, though.) Other students in your school may feel excluded even if they're not gay--go talk to someone who nobody else talks to. If your town is large enough to support an LGBT community center, it may also have a group for teens. Do a search with the words "gay" plus the name of the nearest big town.

Dude im an aussie and straight so I have no idea what your going through. I do know however that everyone has secrets best hidden. Don't be ashamed of who you are. I don't know what school is like over there but im sure things will let up for you. I hink you may even find that people are more open minded than you think. Come out when your ready, if anyone gives you crap dont stand down or react to them, your friends should support you. Good luck mate

Once you graduate. If you feel you're in danger, test out and go to college. College kids are generally way more accepting of experimenation (whether you are sure or not). Stay strong, high school is all about being the same, college is about learning what makes you different and special. I tested out when I was 15 because high school sucked and it was the best thing I could have done. Best of luck!

High School sucks man. I went to high school in South Carolina, so I should know! I have to say that in college it got a lot better. Then after college it became a non issue. It really depends on who you surround yourself with. My advice right now is to surround yourself with Wise and open minded people who care about your development as a person; not just a gay man. I wish you all the luck!

When you're out of highschool.

Highschool sucks for most people; the problems involving your sexuality probably only make it worse.

Life gets better after highschool. It won't be a whole lot easier where other people accepting your sexuality is concerned, but what does change is that you'll be able to choose your company, and you'll have more independence where choosing your environment is concerned.

high school sucks for at least 70% of the population whether you are gay or straight. so when you leave it will get better beause you will be out on your own and free to be with and where you want to be. sexuality is not as much of an issue for adults. well not for as many adults. seems like a few people are stuck in adolescence for life.

I got beat up a lot. It stopped when I started pressing charges.
In the end the only way I could make my life livable was to get away from school and the old neighborhood
