No, it is not necessary if you are a free thinker and don't want to share responsibilities. You can then dump your spouse and run away if and when you feel it has become a burden to you.
Yes, marriage is necessary if you respect the relationship and want to enjoy 100% fulfilment and commitment with your spouse.

NO, not to STAY together. You have to have all the other stuff like love, faith, trust, friendship, communication, etc, etc, etc,.
I think if you have all those combinations of attributes then marriage is a good thing for a couple, but it won't make you stay together if the other components aren't there in the first place.

i think that marriage is a big step so if u r planning to get married then i would make sure that it would be with some one i truly love and i don't think it is necessary because a real close bond is good enough marriage is just another way to make it legal.

no absolutely not necessary. Respect is necessary and you like or better love each other. That you like the same things and have the samne "wavelength".
Marriage only matters if you are religious or if you want children, it makes things easier then.

Depends on the couple, I very happily co-habitat with the love of my life. We have both been married before and they didn't work out, we have lasted longer then both marriages

Nope, I'm living with my man now. Eventually we may get married, but for now we're happy just living together.

It's not neccessary, but it's a choice. Preferably, I would choose to be married, but I'm not and this is not my choice!
