I saw a news article a few days back that they have discovered that some mammoth sperm may still be viable, and, because Asian elephants have such similar DNA to mammoths, they may be able to artificially inseminate the elephant with the mammoth sperm and create a half-mammoth.
Does that count? I couldn't come up with anything else, the dire predictions of the media to the contrary.
