The 28th amendment should be:

The U.S. Government will follow all statutes set forth by the Geneva Convention (Resolution 242 UN Security Council 22 November 1967) and the US Arms Export Control Act (AECA) Thus, discontinuing all aid (Military, Monetary and otherwise) to other countries that violate internationally recognized human rights. In short, the United States should uphold the laws set forth by the UN and other international treatises, instead of following only those laws, acts, ect. that benefit the U.S. Govt. and it's Allies.

My suggestion? Well, I think with the capabilities of the internet. Each elected Representative of the legislature should live within the district they represent as a requirement of holding that office. They could attend their office via internet, and still be in contact with the people they have chosen to represent. The lobbyists will have to divide their forces fifty times to achieve the same results. And lets be honest, under our current system how in touch are our elected officials when they are hundreds if not thousands of miles away from their constituents. With this new system if the people have a problem they can take it right to their Representative in person. Without having to upset their lives to prove a point.

Yes, I agree with the 2nd guy, Joe Schmoe - abolish the Electoral College - it is no longer fair nor just. It is no longer serving the purpose for which it was originally intended. You should have no problem finding hefty documentation to substantiate this cause -

In light of the recent events in Florida and the death of Terry Schiavo...I recommend the 28 amendment to be:

No one should ever be put to death or allowed to die who is in the care of any governmental agency or any entity that receives any funding from any level of government, for any non-criminal act.

Anyone (friend, relative, spouse, physician---anyone) assuming the care of an individual, or is in their care, who allows that individual to die should be charged with the crime of murder in their respective state and suffer the full criminal penalities of that said state. All civil penalties/charges should also be included in accordance with all criminal charges.

To have allowed anyone to die through starvation is a disgrace.

That the presidency and public offices be given back to the common man who will look out for the best interests of this country and not his portfolio. Also abolish the two party system.

"The legitimate powers of government shall be limited only to acts that are injurious to others."

Short, concise, and to the point. Thomas Jefferson's ideal is as poignant today as it was 230 years ago.
