I was shaken to the core of my being when I really saw all of those bodies, death, heartbreak and destruction. It'll be one year that Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast and shook the core of America. My favorite scene is when that three star general(I forgot his name, but they dubbed him "The Ragin' Cajun)came in and handled business. Please, guys, no negative and insulting posts.

It shook me too. It seems like whenever there is a tragedy (9/11 & Hurricane Katrina, for example) there is always a cover-up on how it could have been provented or why it happened? 9/11 happened because of the US previous dealings with terrorists. Katrina happened because of the levees.

I love the General also. He was making them soldiers look bad, but it really wasn't the soldiers fault. I wish he could have been checking the people who gave those orders to have them come down there with ttheir weapons.

It just show you that if you live in a poor neighborhood, that don't give a damn about you. New Orleans is mostly black. A lot of the blacks live in poverty. I didn't realize how bad the schools were, how bad the unemployment rate was, how the dropout rate was. I admit, I cried too.

God Bless Them

I don't have HBO, so I'm going to have to wait for the DVD release (if there is one). But I read an article about this documentary and I heard it was very good. Maybe I can get a friend to tivo it for me.

I really expected better to be honest. HBO usually does a great job and I think they fell short on this one. You could really feel for the people , but I did before I watched it. I did not learn that much new information which I was looking to do.

I'm sick of people thinking that it is the goverments job to bail them out of their problems. Its called insurance, emergancy preparedness and leaving when they give you order to. Don't give me crap about how the poor people couldn't afford to leave. My dad's coompany chartered a bus to go tru the very area most hit and offered free rides to a shelter in Houston, and we are not talking a church gym with cots. They got 3 families 12 people on that bus. Everyone else was going to ride it out. Well, look where it got them!

Haven't seen it yet, but hope it isn't loaded with racial fairytales.
