In fact the small story u've put forward is being asked in the form of a question.
First they talk abt. the incident of the girl meeting the boy & then they talk abt. the murder commited by the girl. Then the question comes "Why?"

Crazy people do things like this. Their mind does not work the same way as a normal persons does. And this may sound like a perfectly sane way to meet up with the boy she met a the funeral.
