Did you get hit on the head as you were finishing that? It's all understandable, right up to "and favorite they tooken was on the same damn spot".

I really can't say, one way or the other. In order for an intelligent life form to create a god or gods, it not only needs to be fearful of that which it does not know, it has to favor the idea of an intelligent designer, for one reason or another. Solid belief in God takes serious doubt in oneself and one's own capabilities, along with a severe lack of understanding. The only thing we really have to go on is human life, on this planet. Kind of limited, in terms of reference, no? Can we be certain that all intelligent life would develop as we have?

I really don't know. Although I'm an atheist, I have the same innate sympathy for spiritual ideas which makes many people religious and might also have made me religious if it wasn't because I had enough science education to understand that there's no rational reason to assume the existence of any kind of intelligence beyond the realms of (animal) psychology.

I think aliens, even if super-civilized now, would have gone through a cultural evolution like ours so their ancestors would have had some naive believes and probably also some irrational ones. I'm sure they would have some parallel of the Loch Ness Monster. As for more abstract super-natural entities like gods and spirits I really don't know. There's something called astro-biology but as far as I know, nobody has dealt with astro-sociology, let alone astro-theology, at a scientific level.

Although I am not an atheist, I believe that god is not a being but an idea invented by mankind to explain the unanswered questions of life. In order to attain life, there is a need for things like oxygen. These things do not exist "out there". So i do not believe that there is "life" out there. Things with minds, hearts and souls? Perhaps. All I am saying is that the "life" out there wouldnt be life as we know it, if that even exists. Also, even if these supposed "worlds" did have their own gods, it would be necessary to have a higher god, with power over all the worlds. Goes with the system of power. A country has many ruling sytems but theres always one president or prime minister...etc.

To quote the essayist and philosopher Voltaire, "If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent Him." If any intelligent life exists, they would probably have the same questions, doubts, and day-to-day troubles that we do. Although their belief system may be quite different than ours, it's not out of the realm of logic to assume they 'worship' a diety or two....after all, our planet has at least 5 or 6 major religions and countless other faiths, not to mention the athiests (and yes, intelligent aliens would probably have them too!).

man has created mythology(aka god)over the years to help explain his role in life and how he got here a , check out the works by Joseph Campbell, The masks of god . People have a genetic need to rationalize their existence.

The first sign a species is becoming sentient is when they have evolved to the point where they can abstract enough to invent a god. The first sign a species is achieving sentient maturity is when they get rid of their gods.
