If you bid on something on e-bay and a few minutes later you discover that the items will cost over 200 to ship -if you email the seller and ask to cancel your bid will they honour it? Is there anything else I can do if not?

How long is the bid left? If still less than 12 hours, easy!

You can't contact the seller though..! Sometimes they don't care.
If your bid is less than 12 hours, well.. nothing you can do besides contact the seller. Good luck! Do it soon..

Hey, I am in the exact same position! except the shipping was $100 on like a $5 item. I should have read the full description! This just happened two days ago. I wrote the seller asking to cancel the deal, but I got no answer. I think I'm just going to refuse to pay, and if I get bad feedback, so it goes, I'm not paying that!

Since it sounds like you haven't won the item yet, ask to withdraw your bid, hopefully they will do it. I once had to do that when I accidentally didn't type the decimal point and bid like $2000 on something!

That kind of happened to me....You can retract a bid--its a little involved-but basically i just wrote and said i mis-typed the amount that i wanted to bid.

follow the instructions--you can only retract a couple bids before they threaten to pull your account. If is an honest thing--no big deal! just get it done b4 the auction ends! You have to watch the shipping costs-since e-bay has continued to raise prices-the sellers are charging more and more since shipping cost don't affect the fees they pay

there is nothing you can do because you are under agreement from ebay.. however most sellers will honor your request and allow cancelation.
