Firt let me clarify some things.
I am a White male and I am a liberal - and live in a Blue state. I think Interracial marriage is a beautiful thing if its for true love. I have no problem seeing Black men and White women loving one another.

BUT...

I am starting to wonder if slavery and white supremacist racism perpetuated in the media have programmed Black men to want to protect, defend and impress White women.

I watch Judge Mathis for example and I notice how when a White man or any other man tries to insult or otherwise aggravate a White woman he almost allways rules against them.

I also noticed how Black men are more chivalrous toward White women by holding doors, giving up seats etc.

I think its because of the media and hundreds of years of racism directed towards them but I have no idea.

You may be onto something here.

Do you mean how the media holds up white women, especially blondes, as perfect and beautiful, and that same media castigates black women as bit*hes and hoes?

Because it is the major media that built and promoted the hip hop and rap music movements, y'know.

Yes, not only black men, but all men affected by Western culture are trained to think that white women are perfect and to be desired/defended from the time they can see and hear, maybe six months old or so. I don't think slavery has anything to do with it, as the last former slave has already died, and without direct experience of it, I doubt that anyone is affected by it.

I've gotten over the fact that Western men are trained to prefer white women long ago; it takes about five minutes in my presence to dispel any idea that I'm anything other than just as defensible/lovable/desirable as any other woman of any color. It takes a lot of work to convince some girls of color of this as well, because the media works on their psyches, too.

If you defend your OWN man, there is nothing wrong with that - like if someone personally attacks HIM. Defending anyone of a race you are not a part of, is like describing what coffee tastes like without ever drinking it yourself. If a white woman even tried to talk for any black, I would stop and ask "UH how the he** would YOU know"? They don't - what they are really doing, is defending THEMSELVES. Black men ARE NOT in any way "victims" of anything, they are JUST as racist, if not more OPENLY racist, that any other race. WHY you think the woman involved with the racist man SHOULD correct him, completely goes against your original complaint here. OBVIOUSLY, SHE is a racist TOO. Despite the common belief, we ALL have the option of choosing to be a racist. None of us really have the right to tell anyone else NOT to be. Of course at WORK, it is ILLEGAL to make racial comments. When someone says something WAY wrong, and I KNOW I can prove otherwise, THEN I will speak up - - and RACE, to me, is not the issue - it's what is true and not true.

Try to be careful about separating groups, looking for differences, and judging behavior based on ethnicity. Its not good to be judging black people by the behavior of Judge Mathis. Maybe Judge Mathis is kind and chivalrous towards all women. Maybe he, as an individual, is attracted to white women. Maybe the people holding doors and seats are chivalrous to all women because they were raised that way. Try to think in this manner of thinking and self reflect on the way you view others.

You are probably right. It is all due to slavery and what not that men of today are treating women a certain way.
Please that is crazy. The slaves and how they were have absolutely nothing to do with how a person is taught and acts toward another today.
Stuff like this is what makes people feel vindicated when they take advantage of a situation and know it is wrong, but blame it on something that is in the past and no one can prove it wrong.
The men treat the women the way they do because someone in their childhood taught them to. i bet these same men treat all women with gentle respect. No just white ones.

I think your theory is wrong. I know of several such couples where, far from protecting and defending the woman, the man is abusive. To be fair, I also know many where the man isn't abusive. But I still can't see that theory making sense.

Kinda like OJ protected Nicole, you mean?

You think too much.

There are instances where black men hurt white women.

Bottom line don't steretype a whole race for what individuals do.

No none of that crap you are saying is true. Actually Black men tend to take advantage of white women because they are usually more naive and emotional then black women.
