state which of the divalent ions(sn,pb) is more stable. Explain your answer?

I dont know if i am right but the different values of divalent ions affects the stability, structure and solubilty of the element. although both are stable, Sn is more stable because it oxidizes easily to SnCl4 while pb tends to decompose explosively to PbCl2 + Cl2.
