When is it ok to hit a woman?

I was listening to the radio the other day and I was shocked that men called in saying its ok to hit a woman "if she gets out of line".

I believe that so long as words are the only things being used, it is not ok to hit a woman - not even a corrective *slap* like the callers claimed.

I think the only terms it is ok to hit a woman is if...

#1 She becomes physically abusive using her press-on nails to attack you

#2 she attempts to get a weapon such as a knife or *gasp* a pistol

#3 she becomes phsyically abusive or life-threatening to the children

#4 my own life is in personal danger from her pre-menstrual B.S.

basically it has to be an action of last resort. You've gone through the checklist and despite your best efforts to reason with her or restrain her or leave the situation or call the cops nothing is working and you and /or your children are still in danger of being harmed by this woman, then the use of force is justifed.

Only if your life or that of another is in severe danger, and only if you have a lot of witnesses to back that up in a court of law.

Of course if you were a woman hitting a man... you could get away with it for the slightest reason, even with witnesses saying she attacked you.

The scales of Justice are so skewed.

Um i dont think you should ever hit a woman.

If she was hurting you or the kids, you could restrain her. As previously said, males are meant to be the stronger sex.

Defence....i spose if you must...but never ever attack.

In Australia we have ads on tv all the time about how 'Australia says NO to violence against women' You can get into big trouble if you hit a woman over here...when you shouldnt have.

I think a real man would have removed himself from the situation in the first place in which the possibility of hitting a person of the weaker sex would have presented itself.

On the flip side, a real women would never take advantage of this by being the aggressor in a situation.

The truth here is men mostly are stronger than women we are the physically weaker sex...You could restrain her like you would a child throwing a tantrum but their is never an excuse for physical violence also if she behaves like that I'd look into her medical condition.

when and if said woman becomes equal in size, in strength, and in lack of intelligience to said man, which we all know will never happen, so therefore it is never ok to hit a woman. although self defense can be handled many different ways without hitting.

I think if my husband ever tries to hit me, I'll take him to the ground. I'm pretty good at ground fighting mechanics, and it's been a while since I've had a good tussle. Wow, you've really got me itching for a fight. I think I'll go wake him up and beat him for a spell.

It is never OK to hit a woman or vica versa. The only way i would say its OK is if you are play fighting and then you don't really hit her hard you just play fight.

i would agree with you,if a women is trying ti killyou,and hitting her is the only way...no court would give you fault,or if a women is beating the hell out of you,then hitting her is again the only way,you probly would not be the first,but hitting her for just yelling,small punches,pushes,no.....if you want to hit something,just leave...its safer and you wont go to jail......

I think it would be ok to restrain a woman in the circumstances you mentioned....but not hit.
