Yes. Been living like that since 1978 on my own with no help from anyone.

The desert are the years between about 23 and 34. You have to cross that to get to paradise.

Once the loneliness dies, it is incomperable, it becomes the realization of the dream you thought being a free adult would be like when you were a small child.

Yes, in an ideal situation a person can live alone and not depend on anyone else. They would have to have their own shelter and their own water, heat, and food supply. They would need to tend to their own medical needs and they would have to have all the "necessaries" that a person needs to live. It isn't impossible but it certainly would be difficult and would certainly require a lot of planning ahead.

There is an old saying that is like this" No man is an island unto himself"
meaning you cannot be totally independent and live like we do in society.
Now if you have no choice and live on an island all by your self, yes you can exist, but can you live, humm, not and remain a civilized person. No, I do not think so. We have to have others to interact with to continue to practice the more civilized characteristics of manners, thinking of others, putting them before ourselves, the simple act of taking turns and waiting your turn.
To remain in society and not depend on others is not an option. Every time you turn on the light switch, you are dependent on some people to provide the power to it. Same with water to drink bathe and flush. food from the store, cars we drive gas we put in the cars,,,,doctors when we are sick, dentists and plumbers....all of them are people we depend on to live,

In a short answer, NO humans are not creatures of solitude, it's been proved (and I'm sorry for whom ever underwent that testing...) but in you question it seems more like a trust issue; and yes i suppose you could live life not relying on or trusting anyone, but that would be very melancholy.

I lived by myself for 9 years before my fiancee' moved in with me.Sometimes,I miss "all"the time that I spent alone.So..Iplan those times "alone" when he is off doing things that he enjoys without me.While i was alone,i depended on nobody else but myself. it is very possible to be alone, out on your own and not relying on anyone but yourself. Most people wouldn't care to try it because those kind of people have to have someone around them 24/7.That is so sad to have to depend on someone/something for the rest of your life..Get a cat, they are loyal pets and very god company. Also, you have to earn a cats love and respect. They are easy to take care of, and will always be there for you....

Yes you can, but it is not easy and very lonely. There are people that do it, but it takes a very strong person and a loner type.
In general we all need somebody to trust and lean on sooner or later. The trick is to find the right person, and it is not always easy.

Well, it all goes down to the person's persona and what not, I believe ... First off, are they capable of attending to their basic everyday needs? Secondly, are they mentally/psychologically strong enough to have no one to talk to and depend on? Thirdly, are they a very social creature themselves? Maybe some people are introverted enough that they wouldn't mind not having anyone to converse with.

Well yes, read 'Robinson Crusoe' by Daniel Defoe. He lived alone on that island (it's fiction, but based on a real-life story) until he found Friday. And guess what? He was thrilled to find Friday!

You CAN live alone, but it is a bad way to go if you don't have to.

on occassions, we may be able to do that. but over-all, man can never be alone... he may live alone, in some special cases and in order to be survive, but let alone, he has to have company...

a child is dependent on her mother's milk. that is true for all of men. as a child, he needs education from his seers. as a young adult, he needs the exuberance of his peers. and as an adult, he has to need someone to witness his success in life...

on the point that during tough times, he has to rely on his own... true. but for it to be called a success, it matters to who have witness it and give credence to his accomplishments, right?

in the end, no man is an island; no man stands alone.....

Sure you can live alone. Remember the
FED EX guy in the movie? Just get a
soccer ball or something and paint a
face on it.
