It seems the hype going is that they all have dogs... not that I'm dissing dogs, I love them too! It's just something I noticed. Cats are just as special!

lol like your question! I think it's because celebs like to have control and dogs behave & look cuter in front of the camera. Cats are different, they're more like people - they get moody, are free spirited and don't like to be controlled. celebs want to smile and look fabulous, a cat is just too much trouble + the media tends to favor doggies. There are a lot of celebrities that have cats though, but they don't get as much coverage.
I'm a cat and a dog lover, but I sure do agree with ya! Cats are really special!!!

Celebrities have cats. Can't remember who I just saw a picture of holding a cat. You see so many celebs with dogs right now because dogs are a hot "accessory" at the moment. Celebs are followers, so if one is doing it, they all have to do it as well.

Cat hair gets all over the starlets' gowns and the men's tuxes, making them look tacky at awards dinners! Tacky.
And cats are bossy, like an agent or consultant.
So stars have, or rent, dogs for their photo-ops. The good stars are very professional about looking human and folksy, in Hollywood it's called being "real tinsel."

Actually cats are becoming the "it" animal for celebs, instead of the girly dogs girls carry in those lv dog bags. Paris and Nicole each recently purchased cats in LA. Check out US Weekly and those other celeb mags to see pics.

Well, Chad Murray has a cat. Other than that, I have no clue. I'm 40% Dog and 60% Cat.

I've had both cats and dogs and a cat would probably rather scratch your face off than be paraded around town. It's possible that celebrities DO have cats, they would just rather keep their faces pretty than risk showing off "Tibby". Dogs eat that mess up.

Wow..what a great question! Maybe because they want to show off their pups in those little fancy bags and dress them up and take them with them. You can't do that with a cat.

I think dogs are much more glamorus and cats will not tolerate poperazzi and fans as much as dogs do. Dogs will also serve as a mini-bodygaurd.
