If you want to spend the dough, you gotta get the latest edition of Final Cut Pro. The reason I'm recommending this software over anything else is because it's the easiest/advanced editing program I used in my lifetime and I used this program for several short films I made. It's pretty basic stuff that you can learn easily, as well as fun to play around and discover new stuff every time. Of course, most major film editors in the film industry rely more on Final Cut than any other software available, whether it's a blockbuster hit, an Oscar winner, or an indie film.
