aawww...it is so cute and i mean that really. honey you are pregnant, you going to feel lots of strange things.

I was pregnant at 18 and scared outta my mind. Go to the books store and pick up a copy of "what to expect while expecting" or another week by week pregnancy guide.

I promise this will make you feel alot better (well most of the time). And a good thing to go by is if it is painful then you call the doctor. If it is just strange, moniter it take notes (seriously) and tell on your next visit.

it could be fine sometimes you wil get funny flutters when you are early but if u are in any sort of pain or have any kind of bleeding u should see your doctor
when i was early i felt what i would call butterflies in my stomach which is normal but your baby doesnt really mve at 5 weeks if u really are worried trust your instincts and see a doctor just try no tto stress. i was also showing very early too and i was worried about anythng you say there is no pain then i wouldnt worry, i am 7 months prgnant with my second child and still wory but small funny feeling flutters are normal. unless they are painful.
good luck i think u will be fine and congratulations

What you felt was probably just gas moving around. At five weeks, you can not feel the baby move, yet. That will come around 16-20 weeks (4-5 months). Also, you can not hear the baby's heartbeat at 5 weeks with a fetal monitor from Wal-Mart. The baby's heart starts to beat at about 5-6 weeks and only a special heart montior at the doctor's office can pick it up (doppler).

One person suggested for you to get the book "What to Expect When Your Expecting" ... I do too! It will tell you just about everything you need to know! I sued it on my last pregnancy as a refresher course (I have had five children and two miscarriages). And now, my daughter is using it with her first baby, she is 32 and 1/2 weeks.

Here is some info for your stage:

Pregnancy Week-by-Week Guide
http://www.pregnancyguideonline.com/

Week 5

Fetal Development:

The developing embryo has three layers. In the top layer (ectoderm), the neural tube will form which will further develop into the nervous system (brain, spinal cord, skin and hair). In the middle layer (mesoderm), the heart and circulatory system, bones, muscles, kidneys and reproductive organs will develop - eventually. At this stage, however, the heart and primitive circulatory system will rapidly form. In fact, the circulatory system is the first organ system to function. In the inner layer (endoderm), a simple tube will develop into the intestines, liver, pancreas and bladder.

Maternal Changes:

Your period is late and you may be wondering if you're pregnant. There are many home pregnancy test kits available that are fairly reliable a few days after a missed period.
The hormonal changes that come with pregnancy may cause your breasts to be swollen and tender as the milk glands multiply. You may feel hungry often or nauseated as morning sickness kicks in. Your growing uterus will begin to press on your bladder causing frequent trips to the bathroom. Not only do these symptoms vary in intensity from woman to woman but also from pregnancy to pregnancy in the same woman.

Multiples:

Your appetite will probably shift into high gear as you need about 1 1/2 times the calories as a singleton mom. Fatigue may also be taking its toll. Rest and eat!

What Type of Care Provider?

It's time to think about what type of caregiver will follow you through your pregnancy. It's important to find someone you trust and who will strive to make this a positive experience for you. Many parents have insurance constraints making the freedom of "choice" in selecting a caregiver difficult. Be sure to look into your insurance policy and then start working on finding the best caregiver for you and your baby.

Week 6

Fetal Development:

My Heart Belongs to You!
The first heartbeats have begun! The baby is now an embryo and is about 1/17 of an inch long. Growth is very rapid this week. The umbilical cord develops. The eyes and ears begin to form as well as an opening for the mouth. The heart has begun to pump blood and most of the other organs are well under construction. Buds form on the body that will become the arms and legs.

Exciting week!

Maternal Changes:

This week tends to bring on the nausea. Morning sickness is a constant companion any time of the day. You may be craving certain foods while the very thought of other foods will send you to the porcelain goddess.
Because this is a critical time in your baby's organ development, avoid alcohol, substances, drugs, and treatments (perms, hair coloring, manicures, etc.) that you don't really need. If you haven't yet, make your first prenatal appointment with your care provider.

Multiples:

Morning sickness can be very severe with multiples' pregnancies. Since your fluid requirements have increased, be sure to drink lots of water to keep hydrated when the vomiting is severe. Contact your care provider if you have any concerns at all.

When and How Do You Tell the World?

You may be so excited that you want to tell the world immediately. Or, you may want to wait and cherish the secret. Some parents worry about miscarriage and prefer not to tell "just in case" and wait until the threat of miscarriage is past. (However, friends and family can be an enormous source of support in the event of a miscarriage, and you may be missing out on this support by not sharing the news.) The bottom line . . . do what feels the most comfortable. Make it a special event whenever you do spill the beans. Our StorkNet readers have shared some of their unique and special ways they've shared their great expectations.

Signs of Miscarriage:

Every mom worries about the possibility of miscarrying. If you have any of these signs, contact your caregiver immediately:

Bleeding
Cramping and/or abdominal pains

Passing of grayish or pinkish tissue or blood clots

Not every cramp or every drop of blood is a sign of a miscarriage. Many women bleed during pregnancy and go on to have healthy babies. It is an important warning sign, however, and you should notify your caregiver.

In the case of multiples, it's very possible to miscarry one twin and carry the remaining twin safely to term.

I hope this helps!

Because of changes in your body you are very likely to retain a lot more fluid, and gas.. Much of what you might be feeling is gas-related. The baby is only the size of a grain of rice, so it is not possible that you are feeling it move. It is perfectly normal, and weird feeling, lol. Relax, take care of yourself...and enjoy the months to come..

i would see the doctor!! The baby is like the size of a pea so you couldn't possibly be feeling the baby move! Maybe its nothing but I would run to walmart and pick up a fetal heartbeat monitor!! Or go to the doctor and check for the heartbeat. I would get a monitor anyways to give you a piece of mind!

You retain alot of water in the 1st and 3rd trimester... but Im pregnant with my second and my family was constantly commenting on my lil pouch at 6 weeks. The crawlin feeling... well I cant really say about that but my mommy in law swears that she felt flutters really early with her second baby.

I had same feeling when i was expecting my baby. Do you have any pain? If you don't have any pain and there is not bleeding i would not be concern about it.
Of course I am not a doctor! But follow always your insitct,if you think it could be something wrong and you want to be sure, just give a call to your doctor.
I am sure they will be happy to help you.
Good luck!

call the doctor with any questions, they won't laugh at you.
If you are showing that soon you may have multiple babies!!!!! or you have a very thin frame.
the feeling you have could be gas or it could be the sensation of your body expanding to make room for the fetus.

Maybe you should go to the doctor? Especially if it hurt, it might just be normal though, however you can never be to safe in going to the doctor
