And what laboratory instrument would be used to measure each??

The difference is how much you spend on your measuring device! With the first, 25 ml, you are saying that whatever device you used to measure the amount was only accurate to 1 ml. With the second, 25.00 ml, you are saying that your device allowed you to be more precise than 25 ml, you know there is 25.00 ml... which means you KNOW there are not 25.2 ml, or even 25.1 ml... your device lets you read that kind of accuracy - and that kind of accuracy costs more money! You could use an erlenmeyer flask to get the first value but with second, you could probably find a graduated cylinder that is accurate to 0.01 ml, or you could use a buret, which can do even better than you said.

The difference is simply a matter of precision. 25 mL says that the beaker you're using only has a precision of 10 mL (assuming the standard that you guess at the last digit). 25.00 mL says that the beaker you're using has a precision of .1 mL.

As for the laboratory instrument, perhaps looking in your chemistry book would find a good answer for that one.

If the temperature of the water is 4 C, then 25 ml of water has a mass of 25 g. If the temperature isn't comparable to 4 C, then 25 ml of water would have a mass slightly decrease than 25 g. (Water is at its optimal density at 4 C)

The difference between the 2 measurement lies on its accuracy. Difinitely 25.00 ml is more accurate than 25ml.A buret could measure the less accurate one but you need a analytical measuring intrument in a controlled environment to measure the latter.

Generally, if specified as 25.00, it means 25 accurate to 2 decimal places, where 25 would only be accurate to the nearest mL.

In other words, 25.00 is 25 +/- .005 while 25 is 25 +/- .5

ml is a unit of volume same as CC cubic centimeter. A volumetric beaker or flask can measure . I don't think there is a difference.

The difference is significant digits.

By writing 25.00ml, you are saying the measurements are accurate to the 100th of the milli-liter. By writing 25ml, you are saying it is 25ml but it is only accurate to the milli-liter.

The difference lies in the significant figures of the measurements.
25mL has 2 significant figures while 25.00mL has 4 significant figures.

same thing only one is accurate to two decimal places.... maybe a pipette..or burrette... they dont really show decimals but u have to use it in practical chemistry, in my case at least u have to put those to zero's after the reading.
