What should one do to be part of History? Obvisouly in a good way. Creating this sort of Neo Holocaust would be a desperate attempt to enter the History books.

Set high standards for yourself and pursue them; Prepare yourself as best as you can; Work very hard; Learn your lessons; Live virtuously and consistently according to your values; Give always a 100% in all; Never give up...
And that way I guarantee you that life itself will lead you to take over the historic place YOU are best suited to occupy.

Well, all you have to do is take over a weak nation, say a Cuba or Venezuela or Argentina, then verbally lampoon a larger nation. Because you have taken on the big powers in the neighborhood, such as Argentina invading the Falklands Islands, people will remember you for you terrible mistakes and inept leadership.
