Cats and dogs don't like me either, but I don' bite them and they don't bite me, hopefully, and I am not afraid of them.
My three yr. younger brother loves cats almost as much as he loves his wife and his sons - and ANY animal loves him!
And my ex-wife got us a pair of budgies - one of them committed suicide jumping from the top of the refrigerator - and he had wings to fly with!
And, dear pet-lovers: I really don't hate pets. Are we not keeping them for our own sake?
Please, dear pet not-lovers, let me hear from you.

Animals can sense how a human is feeling by the odours our bodies let out.
For example, a horse can sense if you are fearful of riding it and that may make the horse feel uneasy.
Even the tone in your voice can make an animals feel uneasy. If my pets are scared, I use a soft voice in a low tone to reassure them that everything will be okay.
I know one trick you can use if, let's say, you know somebody who has a dog, for example, next time you go over, carry a few doggie treats in your pocket and the dog will smell it and become curious. Give it a treat and give it a rub on the head. Do it a couple of times and bingo. . you will be loved by the dog.

Quentin Crisp wrote that he didn't care for animals because he "had enough dumb friends without them."
Personally, I love animals a lot more than most people I know. However, I do a lot of pet sitting and can tell you that there are plenty of spoiled, unpleasant pets out there. Too many people choose pets for their looks and not their dispositions.
Maybe you simply haven't met the right pet for you, yet.

Sounds like you are just not an animal lover. It seems unnatural to me, because I am, and everyone I know is. But apparently it's just the way you are. At least you don't want to hurt them.
Animals don't like you because they can sense whether someone likes or dislikes animals and they respond in kind.

ha ha...believe it or not, animals can sense whether you like
them or not. They have extra senses for all sorts of stuff.
It's not a bad thing that you don't want a pet. From what I hear
it's probably a good idea not to have one ! lol Just don't be mean

I guess everyone has their likes and dislikes...but you may have better luck locating people who dislike pets on a question forum NOT dedicated for pets.
Which question forum might be better suited?...I have no idea. Sorry!

No, not unnatural. Its just who you are.
My Grandpa and my dad are the same way-- yet I LOVE animals. Who knows where all that comes from...
