But recent developments suggest that the Bush administration may already be contemplating what to do with Americans who are deemed insufficiently loyal or who disseminate information that may be
considered helpful to the enemy.

There also was another little-noticed item posted at the U.S. Army Web site, about the Pentagon’s Civilian Inmate Labor Program. This program “provides Army policy and guidance for establishing civilian inmate labor programs and civilian prison camps on Army installations.”

Plus, there was that curious development in January when the Army Corps of Engineers awarded Halliburton subsidiary Kellogg Brown & Root a $385 million contract to construct detention centers somewhere in the United States

The Army document, first drafted in 1997, underwent a “rapid action revision” on Jan. 14, 2005. The revision provides a “template for developing agreements” between the Army and corrections facilities for the use of civilian inmate labor on Army installations.

The people have been brainwashed to disbelieve anything that suggests a conspiracy. People make fun of "conspiratists" without really thinking why they make fun of them. Oh so you're one of those conspiratists, huh. And to their friends they circle their finger around their ear as if the aberrant one is crazy. However, if one pays attention, there is a subtle global move away from individual rights and toward communitarianism. Articles appear stating how individual rights are overrated. The good of the community is paramount in the new age that is coming. The Patriot Act, The Homeland Security, Genetically Engineered Foods, are all in place for a leader to exploit. The new world order will not be a democracy. Both Demo and Repub politicians are not just walking us to that eventuality, they are running us. The system is corrupt, and my measly vote for the Libertarian Party is not going to stop it either. All the elite needs to do to jump start the new world order is to control the food (GE foods) and to precipitate a world wide depression. The object is control -- world wide control. While we are entertaining ourselves, the noose is being slipped over our heads, and we don't notice it nor want to notice it. Call attention to this fact and we call you crazy conspiratist. George Washington, etal. are rolling in their graves. This is not the nation they envisioned. We have fools for leaders, and they will certainly lead us into a communitarian world.

I don't think so.

My gosh. Do any of these people who accuse the Bush administration of stuff like this actually know anything about the administration or the people in it?

I do think we need to do something with people who are a threat to this country and its safety. If you don't believe they exist I can't help you very much.

But those don't include ordinary citizens, even many whose political views might be viewed as extreme.

Wouldn't it have been nice if Timothy McVeigh had been caught and taken off the street before he could blow up downtown Oklahoma City?

Wouldn't it be nice if the 9-11 hijackers had been taken off the streets before they could hijack airplanes?

Let's get a little bit realistic, folks.

And, by the way, if anybody in this country really has this low a view of the government they ought to find a country they'd rather live in. Maybe we can take up a collection to help them with air fare. Don't make any bomb jokes.

Conservatives and Liberals are savvy to show their sides. I recommend that people study the US Libertarian Party. You will find that Democrats and Republicans have usurped libertarian ideas and have twisted them to fit their agenda. Dr Ross of Los Angeles Valley College has an excellent site and is a "Lancers" alumn of US Grant High School at Van Nuys California 91401.

I read about it myself on the Internet. Prisoner camps being built in USA. And heard it of using inmates for producing goods, especially textiles and shoes. Cheap work force. I am coming from a former Gulag country: we all have been working for The Soviet Union. Another empire.
