I work over night and have two kids so when i am home napping my wife and kids are up and when I work over nigh they are home in bed.

If its an older couple that's been married for many years, they're in the relationship more for the companionship than for sex, so sleeping in separate beds is no big deal. Some people sleep in separate beds because one of the people snores loud. Some people just like to have the whole bed to spread out in. Some have sleep disorders and it works better for them but I dont know what the problem is with the others

I sometimes sleep on the couch because my husband says I wake him up. He also wakes me up by his snoring as well. We still have a sexual relationship We both have to get up early and go to work. I sleep better knowing I am not going to wake him up.

my old religion teacher was married and didnt sleep in the same bed because she wanted to practice abstinence ..

Maybe it's because the couch is more comfortable. I'm sure that's one of many reasons. I pretty much know from first-hand experience.
