My sympathies. I started at age 10 and am now 45. You will want to avoid getting into the habit of taking anything for them like Motrin, although it does help. But it can destroy your stomach. What really knocks them out of me instantly is extremely hot water. If you soak in a tub as hot as you can stand it, they usually stop right away. Also, a heating pad can help with this (but if you hurt in the front and the lower back, it doesn't cover enough space to help enough). The trick is that whatever you are going to do, do it right away before the cramping gets severe. Once any type of pain "gets ahold" of you, it's harder to get it to stop than if you catch it early. As for why they started, I know that it took about a year for my periods to get bad, because some of our first periods aren't really full blown periods in the sense of the medical description. It usually runs in families if periods are painful or not and heavy flow or not. So, I'm guessing your mom and/or grandma have put up with the same discomforts. Don't hesitate to ask them for how they eased the cramps. They will surely help you out. Good luck.

get a warm/hot wash cloth and lay it over the cramps. or if you can, go buy a heating pad and use that instead of a washcloth. you can also take medicine for cramps, but i wouldn't do this without telling your dad or going to the doctor.

Some fairly reliable homeopathic remedies for cramps are 1. Laying on your left side, with your left arm supporting under your head. 2. Massaging your left palm with your right thumb, under the bone on your wrist, straight beneath your pinky to the wrist (press fairly hard and feel around to find your personal pressure point behind that bone). and stay away from dairy and meat products, masturbate or take a walk or exersize to relieve stress.

Cramps are normal when a women has her menstrual cycle. Talk to your doctor for medication to help you relieve your pain. I can't recommend any medicine because I don't know your medical history. Your doctor will be better prepared to answer your question. Meanwhile check out http://www.kidshealth.org/kid/grow/girlstuff/period_cramps.html for more info on how to help reduce period cramps.

I think a nice warm bubble bath and chocolate would help but I don't usually get terrible cramps on my period so I can't really help too much.

Cramps are just normal. Try Pamprin or Advil. I usually just take Tylenol for mine. You can also try some minor exercises...like walking. Heating pads work or you can wet a warm or hot wash cloth and place it on your lower stomach.
Hope this helps!!

Your too young for this answer but sex does help. Because of your age maybe pinching the nipples might be a better alternative as it causes uterine contraction and may dislodge some of the blood.
On a supplement level I would take protein enzymes like bromelain on an empty stomach. This will help to ride your body of excess proteins that get trapped in uncomfortable places.
