Yes, the Acids used in duct tape will eventually kill the plantars wart. My sister is an athlete and recently discovered her feet had a good 3 or 4 plantars warts, all she did was put some duct tape on them and with in 2 or 3 weeks they were gone. Her major complaint was the fact that the duct tape left a sticky residue and it fell off alot. She reccomends using the doctor scholes wart remover pads, or the freeze away wart remover over duct tape, but if you dont feel like spending the 8 bucks to get it duct tape will definatly work.

I have heard that it does so decided to try it a few years back. But I couldn't get the duck tape to stay in one place- it kept shifting since it was on the bottom of my foot and being walked on. So I gave up. After a long time, the wart went away on its own. I think you are better off trying some of that liquid wart stuff you put on once a day- you can get it at most stores.

No. plantars warts have a "root" that extends into the skin where it feeds on the blood from the blood vessels beneath the skin's surface. Plantars warts should be removed or treated professionally by chemical freezing or excision.
