Hi ..... sorry to hear about your friend's daughter : ( ..... she has my deepest sympathy

Maybe this poem might help .....

Angel's Kiss

It's my selfishness
that makes me cry.
I wasn't ready
to say good-bye.

I wasn't ready
to let you go.
I pray you know
I loved you so.

It's me, not you
who suffers here.
I know your life
goes on, somewhere.

I know that I should
celebrate.
You've walked through
Heaven's glorious gate.

But, still I can't stop
thinking of,
your smile, your touch,
your special love.

I know that you hear
what I say.
It's just done in a
different way.

And, so I want to
send you this
to you, the one
I love and miss

All my love upon an
Angel's Kiss

There is an incredable poem that talks about how our children are ours to hold aof a period of time. And then they are retruned to God.
I will try to find itl

My youngest child died four years ago. He was my baby. Although he was 21 years old, he was still part of my heart and soul and the loss is beyond comprehension.

One thing with a loss is that rarely anyone wants to talk about the child or the loss as to not upset the parent that lost. Offer to sit and talk if she wants. Holidays birthdays might be hard or they might be fine. This past year has been my toughest time.
Infact tomorrow will be the fourth anniversary of his death.
I will take out my photo albums and remember and cry.

You are a good friend to give a poem to your friend.

First, let me say how sorry I am for your friend. That is beyond awful.

That is a very nice thought, but at this time, your shoulder and listening to her when she wants to talk are what she really needs. Bring her something to eat, because otherwise she won't. Stop by with some groceries, other she won't buy them. Call her often to check on her. And most of all, listen to her, and don't try to tell her platitudes like, "It will be better in time", or, "It was God's will". That doesn't help. Knowing you're there will make all the difference. You sound like a great friend, and it's hard to know what to do at a time like this. Your friendship will be a great comfort to her.

I Do Believe
by Jennifer Janiszewski

There is nothing I can do,
to make her come back
There are no words I can say,
that can replace the words you long to hear

There are no answers I can give,
that will satisfy your questions
There is not another soul I can introduce you to that will ever replace hers
And, there is no love I can offer that will ever replace the love you shared

I can not promise your broken heart will ever be complete
I will not say it could have been worse
I will not deny it was a tragedy
I will not lie and tell you she will come back

She never really left

I do promise she hears you when you speak
I will say she loves you no matter the distance
I will not deny she is in a better place
And, I will not lie; she is waiting to greet you someday

She is every you step you take
She is in everything you do
She is the air you breathe
She is every beat of your heart

" She is like the wind. You can not see her...but you will always feel her"

That is tragic. Try some of the poems on this site: http://www.thelaboroflove.com/prose/loss.html

There are quite a few of them and since we don't exactly know the circumstances or the family, you should choose. Just note that the "next page" link is at the top - under the title of the page "Poems about the Death of a Child".

You will definitely need a box of tissues for this site.

There is a song with the lyrics "where are you going my little one, little one, where are you going my baby my child? Turn around and she's two, turn around and she's 4, turn around and she's a young girl walking out of the door" I can't remember who sings it but it's an older song, like from the 60's. It was the song my father and I danced to at my wedding. Someone on here should be able to tell you who sings it. Also, any part of the lyrics from Garth Brooks song "The Dance" like, "I could have missed the pain but then, I would have missed the dance."

I still think that " Footprints in the Sand", is a really comforting one
Also, if you go into a christian gift shop....there are ALOT of very
nice, heart felt gifts that she will appreciate. You cannot take her
pain away....but trying to COMFORT her is important. That's all
you can do as a true friend.
