Take a second , think back to when you were a kid , I can remember you could not say tiolett , on American TV , I used to think , not being American myself , "what a bunch of prudes."
The right to self expression has come a long way since then.
The producers of the Simpsons, "if any one has kids", have covered these issues, in a episode where Marj gets Itchy and Scratchy sensored for violence.
Have a look at what Kids can get there hands on now .
I would just like to hear anyone else who has an opinion on sensorship .

Censorship has a flaw at its core, the idea of it is to stop the viewer from experiencing something that they (in the view of the censoree) would not like.
Unfortunately the act of saying something is censored creates a demand for it and due to the internet, generally, is soon available for all to see.
The idea has become void.... but it is still used....
Sums it up really.
Bill Hicks says it better!!

Its funny that when people are told that they cannot see/read/hear something then it becomes extremely popular - Satanic verses, spycatcher, relax, clockwork orange etc and so Censorship can be counterproductive.
The main reasons for Censorship are, pornography, bad taste, political, religious etc
In the main sexual content is most often censored. It is worth noting that the word pornography is a word that appeared during victorian times and represents victorian values. It is also worth noting that high art is able to get away with far more because the consumers of it are deemed to be more intelligent and able to judge for themselves - mass art (e.g films) that are accessed by all sections of the community do get censored regularly because someone who is informed has made a decision on behalf of people who are not capable of judging for themselves. As for protecting children - is it possible that parents can monitor and control the media consumption of their kids?

REPORTED (just kidding)
actually censorship is still out there through advertiser intimidation, classifying of government documents, and political correctness. the pointless stuff seems to get through (foul language) but the truth gets obscured
regarding the animated series just take the example of the South Park Scientology episode, which even a pretty progressive network like comedy central canned for half a year.

The censorship work is the temporary block of the zeal of the human being. It cannot block the desire and experience of the human beings rather if we censor someing, it will store in the repressive faculty of the mind. Sometime it outbrust, which may cause violence or revolution.

I think people like to blame lack of censorship (as an example) for roles they should be doing as parents. Yes, I'm a parent.
I'd like to see less censorship on many things, I don't feel as an adult that a board of my peers should tell me what I can & cannot see.

eventually over time the word fck will seem ok
to the generations, just as 10 years ago sux
was a similar to the i guess swear degree of the word
censorship does help preventing the young generations
to prevent thinking swears are normal words in our lingo
but eventually if its not stressed the harshness of the swear
then it will evetnually be "ok" to them.

People are quick to blame TV for violence. There were plenty of crazy people long before TV was even a thought...

It depends on what the subject is really. These rules are there to protect people. I don't want to read nothing but swear words. Far better words to use to express yourselves than foul language.

i personally dont think it works because if kids are as hard headed as i know them to be, then they'll get it somehow, and they dont care how long it takes. most kids will hack and scheme just to rub it in countless faces about how they won and got the material anyway.

Theoretically no, but there is a limit to what one is expected to see and read.
