You wanna hear something funny? When the whole P.C. thing totally started to get way out of control, I had a friend who called me up. He said, "You won't believe what someone called me today!". In my head, I was thinking that it was n___er cause he's black, boy was I wrong! Anyway, I said "What?". And he told me that someone actually had the gall to call him African American! I was stunned, because I thought that his roots were African. Well, he told me that originally his family was from Africa , but the reason he was angry was because for the last 300 years or so, his family had been from the Dominican Republic and that he was very proud of that because of the big slave revolt there. And he couldn't believe that someone would actually think that they were being nicer by calling him African when his forefathers had been sold off by Africans to white Europeans. So, I guess not everyone thinks that it's good to be called what is supposedly the "most acceptable" thing.

because the liberals are making the world Politically Correct. Though most of those are used by people to ignorant to know the truth of it. African American for example implies that you were an African citizen first then obtained your American citizenship second. So next time they say they are african american ask them from where in africa. Ignorance is bliss and they are some blissful people.

Because they can, get over it. If it has nothing to do with you why do you care? You're not going to die every time you hear the word African or Asian American, just get over it. You just want to complain about something, immature fool.

Because they don't understand that by creating yet another label for themselves that they are further distinguishing themselves from society as a whole and further propogating stereotyping and discrimination.
