like how are the families like and what do they have as their main important household items and the main uses for them

what the hell is a chinses? i hope u don't mean chinese cuz if u do chinese families are like anyone elses family, DUH!

Chinese families are very westernized, and follow much the same manners and customs but still cling to a few traditional things. We observe Spring Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, Dragon Boat Races, etc...but these are being less observed as the pressure of work, busy schedules and schools take great priority. The only thing in my home that is a little 'Chinese' is a family altar to pay respects to my ancestors. Sure there are other things but they are by province, or ethnic group rather than as Chinese.

Maybe you need to find yourself a travel video, watch the chinese cooking shows on tv, or look up some chinese websites. Chinese live like we all do. You can taste for yourself Chinese cuisinne. The only thing I found different is that I didn't know there are 2 menus in a Chinese restaurant, one in English and one in Chinese. If you want the Chinese menu you have to ask for it.
