"Lisa the lesbian-identified man is based on a story I heard about
a guy who was so lesbian-identified that he was mad he wasn’t
allowed into the Michigan Womyn’s Music Festival. That whole
character came about because I was trying to explain to some of
the staff what the Festival was, and in the process I mentioned
this guy Lisa. And the executive producer was like “A dude
named Lisa? I love it! Let’s make him a character.” That’s sort of
the way characters evolve."
Doesn't fully answer the question but it is straight from the horse's mouth.

A "man identified lesbian" would be a lesbian who identifies as a man. I think you are thinking of "lesbian identified man," which would be a male who identifies himself as a lesbian. Essentially, this is a straight man who is transgendered and thinks of himself as a female. If he goes through gender transition he would be a lesbian.

Hell if i know. I'm a lesbian and as far as know lesbianism is when a woman loves another woman (look it up in the dictionary). As far as a "male lesbian" wouldn't that mean that your just a straight guy?

a lesbian-identified man is a man who is a homosexual woman (i.e. lesbian) who was born with a male body and is not seeking gender reassignment surgery. Instead of female hormones and corrective surgery to help make the outside match her inside, she simply lives with the package she came wrapped in as a lesbian to the best her body will allow. This creature is somewhat of a cross between a M-t-F lesbian transgendered person and the mythical lesbi-man who woos lesbians into heterosexual relationships with their very lesbianic attitudes, personas, personality, and sexual techniques which any common straight man could never master.
