I'm thinking of leaving after 1 week cause ppl @ work are starting to act different towards me, even the boss. They already are training someone to replace me and they are kind of brushing me off & rubbing it in as if they don't care. What do you think I should do? i really don't want to be there anymore.

Stay! You have an obligation to your employer. Do your best and before you leave ask your boss for a work reference. If you show you can work, regardless of adversity, it will go well for you. Good references are a great tool in getting future work.

Stick it out.... ask if there is a way that you can help train the new person going into your role... after all, who knows it better than you, right? This shows that you are professional, and also gives you something to focus on, and will help your week go faster.

It does suck, when you can see that light at the end of the tunnel (and all you really want is to get to the end of it) but are not quite there yet, but in the scheme of things.... it's only 1 week.

Good luck!

Yes I see this thing at my work all the time. If you want the chance to come back to work again there you should give them the time you said and give them a leaving letter. But that's up to you. Why would the worker treat you differently? I understand management at most places they are retarded anyhow. Geez feel sorry for you. I guess it all depends on your job.

If it's like Wendy's I don't think it would matter much. If its a OK job then wait the two weeks for sure for a good referral and maybe a chance you can return again.

I am a manager and have to tell you that you are obligated to work the time you said you would. If I were you I would talk to my manager and tell them I felt a bit awkward now and since there is someone there to replace me already I would be willing to have my existing shifts cut. It is a win win really, if they don;t need you then you have the freedom to walk away without any negative side affects. Or, if they do need you than you will get your feelings out in the open and come to realize that you are valued in your position. Don't just walk away though without any discussion, it makes for a horrible reference that you may need in the future. Good Luck

Do you have a new job already? If so, do it, seems that they already found your replacement, but be sure that your liquidation is the right one. If isn't or if they try to punish you some how just go to your lo ca employees department affairs and open a complaint. Good luck and remember one one door got closed there are about 5 that got opened.

you should tlk to you boss and to HR - may be they agree that you can leave earlier but getting your salary until the end.

Depending on the State you are in - in some states (like CA) you can leave right away. Of course then the salary stops right away too. The 2 weeks are courtesy, nothing else. In other states you may have to stay.

Stick it out. It's one more week, and people do get a little weird when someone leaves. If you leave now though, you may become ineligible for rehire. While you may not want to return to this company specifically, when giving your reference, they could say that this person is ineligible for rehire.

Deal with it. That's normal. Just stay and get your pay. If you leave before you complete your notice then quite frankly it shows that you do not have a good work ethic at all.

What you are experiencing is normal. If you are felling uncomfortable perhaps you should ask some with enough authority to give you an "official" answer if they would be more comfortable if you left early. Other wise stick it out.
