That depends on the school district. Some districts have strict rules concerning where students need to live to attend schools within that district. Also, there may be similar restrictions for the area into which the person moves.

I'm not sure...I go to high school in NYC but have friends who live wayyy out on Long Island and attend school here with no problem even though if you don't live in NYC, you aren't supposed to attend school there. The thing was they were accepted into these schools already, but they moved either right before or right after school started and didn't give the school their new addresses. So basically if you want to go to a school outside your district, you'd have to have been attending the school/already accepted [it'd be easier if you'd already been attending]. And don't tell the school you're moving or else they'll suggest you transfer out. Use your old address for paperwork or if you have a friend who lives near you or a family member, use theirs...with their agreement of course. =]

there may be cost associated with going to a school in a district other than the one you live. the best thing to do is to talk to the attendance secretary/guidance counselor/or principal at both schools. Looking for an answer here is mostly a waste of time for this issue. You and your parents should pick up the phone and call the school to find out details.

You should be able to go to any school you want to as long as your parents will let you. No school can tell you you can't go to a different school. However, there may be some local school zone laws that can make you go to a certain public school depending on where you live.

you'll have to get a transfer type permisson. Have your parents contact the schools to get the necessary paperwork. Sometimes they allow it, sometimes they don't (ie if the school you want to still go to is too full).
