This kids mother took him to have braces put on his teeth and sent the bill to my boyfriend without mentioning she was going to do it. Not that it matters. But it just seems to me no one is noticing this kid has breasts, bigger than his sisters. She probably should have taken him to a plastic surgeon and saved the braces for later. How would you bring this subject up. The poor kid goes swimming with a shirt on.

I think he would be very offended if I mentioned it. The kid is so sweet. He really needs some attention in this area though.

The dad is kind of wierd about things. The mother takes care of all the issues. How can you not see boobs growing on your 16 year old?

It's difficult to guess whether or not the boy has a genuine medical disease without seeing his condition.

As a younger male child I was very heavy set and had a large chest I was extremely insecure about. I wouldn't let anyone see me without a shirt on, whatsoever. My problem was food, and the weight was later lost. If you believe the boy is legitimately insecure about his problem you might first suggest a diet, or, better yet, schedule a doctor's appointment to be sure it is not a legitimate disease.

I would delicately bring this subject up, but only in the manner of encouraging him to exercise and start to eat healthier.

Gynecomastia is also a symptom of certain genetic disorders as well, like Kleinfelter's syndrome. This is a possibility but if he doesn't have any other developmental disorders then it is unlikely.

Her mother should take him to a doctor for a medical check-up instead of to a dentist. It is obvious that he has more estrogen than testosterone. This indicates his liver is in a sorry (very weak) state. Probably his adrenal glands are too.

Talk to the pediatrician.

The amount of teasing he will get is going to be terrible (if it isn;t already)
