Its very common to get yeast infections after sex. Normally, just the "new" bacteria that enters your body either on a penis or a condom, will interact with your normal body bacteria, and will cause a yeast infection. One way to help alleviate the problem would be to consistently use the same brand condoms. Another, and this is a bit harder, if you are going to be having intercourse without condoms, have your partner clean himself first. Perhaps you could suggest a sensual shower together.

I don't get yeast infections after sex but I certainly do agree, they are annoying and how! Any woman saying they don't get yeast infections are probably walking around with a nice brew, unbeknownst to them (ewwww). Try by eating yogurt with live cultures regularly; it will help keep your yeast in check.

Yes. One friend asked her doctor how to prevent UTI (also helped by sex), and the doctor's answer was "Put your husband on the roof."
Suggestions: Start eating yogurt, regularly. The acidophilous helps keep yeast in balance.

No...

Can you get a yeast infection from having sex? The answer is: Unlikely. Yeast infections are not sexually transmitted diseases. While it is possible to contract one through sexual relations, sex is a rare and uncommon source of infection. If the male partner has itching and irritation, he should contact his doctor and tell his doctor you are currently treating a vaginal yeast infection.

I don't myself, but I thought it only happens if a woman passes the infection to the guy and have sex with him without being cleared of the infection.

Yeah, that happens. If it's recurring, chances are, he has it too, and keeps giving it back to you. Or it could be an STD, PID, lots of things.A Pap Smear is a good idea if the keep coming back.

I get them after my periods and well sex makes them feel much better. It's a shame you get them after sex. I don't want to sound odd but if it's that reocurring maybe have sex regularly throughout the week will decrease the chance of getting them...
