im not saying its a bad thing to do so i was just wondering because we were all brought up that girls go witht he girls and boys with the boys. I understand all the risk's now a day, but is there really a age limit to this. like today they were all clearly old enough spoke clearly and yet were all brought in to the girls bathroom to stand there and wait. whats the age limit.....is all im saying im not here to offend anyone

I have three kids two of which are boys it wasn't till they were about 6 or 7 that I let them go to the restroom alone and even then i would stand next to the door with my foot in the door jam. Men would go in and I would just tell them my young son was using the restroom and that I would not let the door close all the way, not enough to see anything just enough so that the door would not close all the way and I could hear my boys I never encountered a man that was upset by this they just said understand and if you are more comfortable i can wait till your son is done never had a problem. When my oldest was about ten i let him not only go by himself but take his brother who was about7 or 8. I just made sure i talked about all the stranger danger stuff and what to do if there is a problem. There are to many sick people out there sorry guys I would rather make you uncomfortable then take a chance with my kids.

I haven't been out lately to check out this type of situation, but in years past, when traveling, the kids would be covered up and go by the car (I think it's illegal now), and mothers, aunts or any other female would take the kids to the potty (when the kids were either female or male). These days for security reasons I can see where a mother would take all her kids into the bathroom with her. It used to be just like clothes dressing rooms in the stores, and then you'd always see this male kid peeking thru the cracks or under the door. I don't think a father should ever take his daughter into the men's restroom though.

i took my son with me into the ladies restroom, that's right.
and i didn't care who liked it or not---you are not supposed to leave your young children alone, and i sure as hell was not going to let him go into a man's restroom by himself.
you don't hear about women kidnapping little boys and raping them do you? but u always hear about men taking little boys and raping them all the time.
besides, in a ladies restroom, there is nothing to see, all the stalls have doors, so what could little boys see?
and if i were a man with a little girl, i would cover her eyes while we walk past the urinals in the men's room, and bring her to use the toliet with the door closed, since they won't let men go into a ladies room, even with a little girl what else can a man do if he's alone with his daughter?
u can't trust strangers these days and ask them to take ur kids for you, no way.

depends on the kids' ages. under 5 is ok but over that they can go on their own or have someone of the same sex take them in. You can stand right outside the door. I did and would open it an inch and keep asking my son if he was ok. The men in there didn't mind.

5 is old enough to go on there own...but any younger......you have to..there are a lot of sick people in the world and a kid this age doesnt know any better..but fathers should stpo about age 3 and find a woman who works at whatever place they are at to take the girl...min piss infront of eachother

Yes, it is okay to take young boys in the bathroom with their mother. I would not let my husband take our daughters into the mens room though because mens bathrooms are always germy and disgusting. Plus the mens urinals are right there in plain sight. No thanks.

Would you rather she let her child go into a restroom unsupervised with adult men?
There are still children kidnapped, raped, murdered all too frequently, and all in the blink of an eye. Better safe than sorry.

yeah .. i think it's perfectly okay. it is the grown up society that makes that into in an abnormal (even sexual issue).
for children going to the bathroom is (or at least should be) a perfectly normal and natural thing.
let kids be kids

If the kids are, like, *tiny*. I think it's better for an opposite-sex parent or guardian to be stationed by the door instead.

No it's not ok. I was in aloo when a dad took her little daughter in. Almost zipped myself painfully in trying to hide from the little girl.
