Our 10 week old has slept in her crib for the last 9 weeks (the first week we kept her in a bassinet in our room). For the first few weeks, we would usually rock her to sleep and once she was asleep we would put her in her crib. Now we can put her in her crib when she's awake and she will fall asleep on her own. Stick with it and your baby will adjust. Good luck, you can do it!

She's still super young. My son was an erratic sleeper early on, but at about 10 weeks, I started getting him in his crib, and he has been a champ since. I know it's hard to believe now because you're SO tired, but it does get better and it doesn't last forever.
Keep in mind, too, that 6-8 weeks is a common time for a growth spurt, and this disrupts sleep.
There are lots of good books out there about sleeping and other routine ideas. I would read up on a couple, and get a feeling for which philosophy works for you. I recommend the first two I'm listing below- they worked for my family's lifestyle. The other one has been recommended by friends, who have a different approach to parenting.
Just know that, although is seems SO important now, this too shall pass. She'll learn to sleep, and in about a year you'll laugh at how stressed this made you. And you'll actually consider having another one... Haha...
Congratulations on your new one, and hang in there!!

I kid you not, during the first 1-3 months my baby would not sleep anywhere but on my chest or my boyfriends chest. She refused to sleep anywhere else. If she fell asleep in our arms, it would only be for 15 mins or so. Other than that, she would just cry. Even when we put her in her bassinette. She still would cry, or just fall asleep for 15 mins at a time. So my boyf/ and I would lay down and prop her up on our chest. She would ball/curl up on our chest and fall right to sleep. It was hard dealing with that for 3 months, but we made it through. As long as we were getting some sleep. Someone told me she fell asleep on our chest because she liked the sound of our heart beat. It was a sweet thought and a nice jesture, so I remained patient with her. During the first few months, I found that babies like being close to their mom. So putting them in their crib at this stage, probably won't work. As long as the baby is comfortable and is not in any danger, I'd say let her sleep in the rocker chair. As my baby got older (over 3 months), she would only fall asleep in her bouncer. And that's when I tried the task of moving her from her bouncer, to her bassinette, to her crib.

why not start out easy on her? if she is used to sleeping in her rocker chair then let her sleep in it. Its not going to hurt her i was just able to get my son into his crib out of his seat and he is 6 months old. start off easy but getting her to sleep for nap time and laying her in her crib when shes asleep for about 15 to 20 minutes. and if you have a mobile or something in there try putting her in it for a little while each day and turning on the mobile she will soon realize her crib is for her amusement and she will learn to fall asleep watching her mobile or whatever toy you may have mounted in the crib.

My son was the same, so we just let him sleep in his bouncy chair for the 1st 3 months. after that, we tried putting him again in his crib and he still does to this day, at 6 months.
As long as both of you are getting enough sleep, that's all that matters.

Just do not let her sleep in her chair anymore. Put her down for all naps or otherwise in her crib (or living room floor on a blanket for naps - i did this if i was staying in the room). If YOU are consistent, then your daughter will be consistent also. Try swaddling her before her naptime, this may help her stay asleep once you put her down.

honestly i think that you should put her to bed in her crib. she will cry and what not but after a while she will go to sleep. if u feel more comfortable just check on her every once in a while to see if she is ok. but like i said she will get used to sleeping in her crib if you always lay her down in it when it is time for her to go to bed.

oh honey been there! Try a bouncy seat (sling like creation that cradles them) Ours had a vibration to it and we put it in our bed inbetween us and got a few hours at a time this way. GOOD LUCK and sleep when she does!!!!!!
Oh one more thing, try to carry her around in one of those baby bijorn front carriers during the day.

Let her fall asleep on you, make sure she is sleeping very deeply, then try to put her in the crib. It may take a few tries for it to wwork . good luck!

Welcome to the life of having a baby..You might as well just burn that crib and use it for warmth..
Babies never sleep in their cribs
Its not a bad thing..Just enjoy her..it doens't matter where she sleeps as long as she is taken care of..
