I will be attending a formal soon and would really like to try on the bronzed goddess look, like how some celebs like J.Lo has done, but yet my face is quite oily i don't want my face to look too shiny. How do I deal with that?
How do you use a bronzer? Should i use a powder foundation before hand?
I plan to go intense on eyes, do you suggest liquid eye liner or pencil eyeliner? Would like to use brown eye shadow on eyes, would it be good?
As for lips, gloss or no gloss? pink or brown?
I have fair skin by the way. Hope to get some tips in doing this look as I've never tried this look before

If you are fair it may be a little difficult to have the full bronzed look as your face would be of a different colour as your neck. What you can do is... use a big face brush and brush slightly some bronzer on your cheekbones & forehead & chin. If you are going intense for your eyes, keep your lips to a minimum & just use gloss with light pink hue (no shimmery type). Pencil eyeliner would appear more natural while liquid would be more drama. However since you were saying that your face is quite oily, my advise is use pencil so that it would not smudge. To enlarge your eyes, draw the line very close to eyelash & fill in the gaps between the eyelashes. Use few coats of mascara, but remember to put the next coat after each coat dries...if not it would be clumpy.

go to a tanning salon, they can do from a sun kissed tan to a deep one, then on your big day, for your body put on a bronzer lotion like the one from victoria secret, it is very good and gives you that shimmery tan look , for your face there is a ton of bronzers, from the ones in the supermarket to the ones in the department stores, get the one that goes better with your skin an apply it only on the cheeks, bare minerals has this great powder foundations and great powder bronzers too for your oily skin, maybe you should try it, pink lipgloss yes, and for a more dramatic look in your eyes, try fake eyelashes, they do wonders, and liquid eyeliner, maybe a smokey eye look with a pewter color, mac has a great one, smokey eyes are sooo in and so pretty, if you go to a department store you can buy something and ask for tips on your specific look you want to try. Good luck and have fun.

I suggest that you use a bronzer, shadow liner, and BLACK mascara. Use the bronzer on your eyes instead of eye shadow. Apply your bronzer as a blush, but make certain to direct the strokes of your brush from the highest point of the cheekbone in front of the ear downward toward the nose. It gives you that "spa" look. I recommend true powder foundations (not creme-to-powder). It is expensive but Bare Minerals is indeed the best on the market. You can purchase it at:
http://www.sephora.com
just go to Bare Escentuals.

I suggest you use a medium-dark metallic brown as eyeshadow and NO eyeliner at all, just take the eyeshadow and apply it more heavily near your lashline. Use dark brown mascara and apply your bronzer to your forehead, hallows of the cheeks, across the nose and a little on your chin. (apply as much as needed for desired bronze-ness) Since you have fair skin you should use pink instead of brown lipgloss, it would be too much brown.
Good luck at your formal!
