I think thats part of it. Along with R&B and every other genre of music. Not to mention the fact that you see sex everywhere. TV, billboards, magazines, etc.
I'm assuming that you are not a fan of rap music. But, just to let you know... corporate america knows that rap sells and they know that sex sells. So, of course they put the two together. There is plenty of rap music that does not talk about sex, and that does not degrade women. For example, Dead Prez's song Mind Sex. But, unfortunately people don't care about stuff like that these days.

I think it's more likely that hormones and growing-pains make teens want to have sex. Also the idea that having sex=acceptance in social circles, which amounts to peer pressure. I don't really think it's the music's fault.
What I DO think though is that Rap causes teen boys to have a bad attitude towards girls, all that b***h and ho talk and whatnot.

I would bet $$ the type of teens that enjoy listening to rap are more likely to become sexually active at younger age than teen population in general.
I would be very interested to know the % of teenage pregnancies amoung girls that prefer rap, as compared to girls that prefer country music ..... I'm sure rap is much higher %

i've found a lot of the rap songs
do have sexual content in the lyrics
it does suggest more sexual activity
but that builds on their view on life.
just as tv shows also influence
i personally prefer alternative rock.
