i'm a science stream student but also taking art as an extra subject.it's all becoz of my father who wants me to b an architect.i'm not really interested in architecture as i see my father's job n hardwork although it pays a lot.i've always wanted to b a chemist or at least,a pharmacist.what should i do?do i have to b an architect as my father want me to?becoz he's highly depends on me as his best child than any other of my siblings.

you should do what you think it's best for you, you shouldn't listen to your dad for him to decide your future career, because it's your life, you decide what you want in your life, your dad can't make the decision for you forever. Plus it'd be depression working as something you don't even have any interest in, you'd still be depressed even though you get paid a lot, I say you should make your own decision on this.

If you continue on your current path you might end up miserable and hating your job. And if that happens, you won't be successful, because nobody is successful who hates their job. Then your father will be disappointed in you anyway. Or... you could challenge him now and make a positive change in your life. He will accept your chosen career direction eventually. He has to. It's your life, not his.

Are you good with math? Because I believe architechture requires a lot of math skills, which could be a compromise.

Look sweetie, we are all our parents' dream. They are living thru us. But the one thing that you have to realize is that you must be happy.I'm going thru a career change myself and you have to know that this is your life and your future. do what you have to do to be successful
