hm, that's a tough one. Don't know which aspect you are referring to exactly. I assume you mean financially? If you aren't getting divorced right away I might start doing some stuff NOW to get ready just in case of divorce. Take some basic classes that will help you get a decent job. Temp agencies are a good place to start to get basic office positions and move up rather quickly if you get hired on, and learn a lot in the meantime. If you have been working or have a good skill set to get a job with (there are some great resumes with skills housewives have) and can make it financially, then that is big help. Also, I would think a few supportive people in your life would make the transition a lot smoother.
Overall, if you are unhappy, and going out on your own is what you really want (if you think it is the healthiest choice) then go for it-there's really no one stopping you but yourself.
However, I'll risk sounding preach-y here by saying I think divorce should be a last resort if both people are unhappy and you can honestly say you both have given your full effort and every effort to repair the marriage.

I do believe you have a chance when it comes to the real world. You sound like you question yourself more than you actually are able to rely in yourself. When you have been married for so long it becomes easy to lose your own identity and rely on the person more and lose every sense of confidence in who you truly are. Don't forget you had an identity before marriage and you are an individual who carries her own responsibility and is strong in your own way. Plus even though I am only 25 I bet you are very beautiful inside and out.
