Why do men allways buy flashy cars and technology when women don't even know the difference?

I think men buy flashy stuff trying to impress other MEN, not women. I believe there is an underlying homosexual aspect to the male psyche when he shops.

For example, how many women know the difference between a Chrysler 300C and a Chrysler 3000 SRT-8?

NONE OF THEM - except maybe the women working for chrysler. So why do men find it neccessary to buy advanced, more expensive technology if only OTHER MEN will recognize it.

How many women know the difference between 20 inch rims and 24's? NONE OF THEM - why should they care anyway?
I think men shop like this because they are afraid of other men pulling out rulers and measuring their sh*t.

Its mostly the desire to show off around guys - trying to be the alpha male.
Secondly its STUPIDITY and IGNORANCE about the value of money. The same people spending money on this stuff are BROKE and live with their moms in most cases. Rich people don't shop like this. Only the middle class because they are overcompensating.

I damn sure don't know (or care) but men do like to feel confident when they approach a woman, much like a peacock strutting his feathers. The female peacock couldn't care less either.

Whatever builds their confidence is worth doing, because there's nothing worse that going out with a guy who's a nervous wreck because someone talked him out of buying the car with leather seats or the watch that was a genuine Rolex.

To me, it's the male equivalent of makeup.

Not really a fair comparison, how much does all that shiney gold and silver crap with the colored rocks in it cost? Its the exact same thing, with cars and gadgets actaully have some function to them. A ring is a ring, no matter what you do it. My girlfriend has 70 some pairs of shoes, 30 pair that I would describe as "black". However i can see a 20" Lexani wheel from a block away and know what it is. does it function more than the stock wheel? probably not much, but there IS function there. Thoughts?

I say that just because not all women are the morons you are claiming we are.

I too am mystified by guys and their toys, but on the same token I am just as mystified my women who have 20pairs of shoes, and paint their faces like Tammy fay baker. (no I'm not a lesbian, not that is bad, just making a point)

Wrong. Men buy those things to lure beautiful women who do not know the difference in such things. Make no mistake about it, a guy driving the beautiful car will get the woman before the guy in the beatup wreck.

I'm a woman and I KNOW the difference. The SRT8 is all about performance with a 6.1 litre engine compared to 5.7 litre for the 300c. The bigger the wheels the better I say!!!!!!

I don't really appreciate you conveying that I can't tell the difference between things of that nature. I would guess that you can't tell the difference between a $50 purse and a $250 purse if thats the way you believe women think.

Then again, my wife drives a 3000GT VR-4, and knows exactly what it is, AND the difference between it and some Chrysler junker ;)!
