Sound quality is awesome.
Most other MP3 players, you need to send the sound information to speakers via the headphone jack. That method of sending the information is not the beast for quality. You know that data connection on the ipod? It is a more effective method of sending the audio information and so the sound sounds better. Thats why you see so many speakers that are made specifically for the ipod data connector.

It is cuts down clutter, no more CDs or CD cases in the house or car. I can listen to all of my music quickly and easily and where ever I want.
In my car, at my parent's house on their stereo, in the doctor's office.
Many new cars are now coming hardwired with an iPod hookup. That has to tell you something.
Some iPods can be used for movies and pictures. You can also use it in school to record lectures.

I'm happy with my Creative Zen Micro.
When I outgrow it I might get an iPod, but the moment I bring it home, I'll be putting RockBox firmware on it, because stupid Apple's firmware can't play Ogg Vorbis files.

I think it's because it's nice and stylish. It doesn't really have alot of special features though. I think a big part of the reason it's so successful is because of the hype people create around it. But I'm not a technology expert so I'm not so sure what's so good about it either.

I like the fact that u can hold a lot of songs in a little amount of space and play it in ur car stereo, and i dont get annoyed with cds.

Well because it can store a lot of songs and you can download pics,and some videos. And it like a CD player but smaller and better.
