HERE YOU GO................
Celine Dion
(Falling Into You)

Fly, fly little wing
Fly beyond imagining
The softest cloud, the whitest dove
Upon the wind of heaven's love
Past the planets and the stars
Leave this lonely world of ours
Escape the sorrow and the pain
And fly again

Fly, fly precious one
Your endless journey has begun
Take your gentle happiness
Far too beautiful for this
Cross over to the other shore
There is peace forevermore
But hold this mem'ry bittersweet
Until we meet

Fly, fly do not fear
Don't waste a breath, don't shed a tear
Your heart is pure, your soul is free
Be on your way, don't wait for me
Above the universe you'll climb
On beyond the hands of time
The moon will rise, the sun will set
But I won't forget

Fly, fly little wing
Fly where only angels sing
Fly away, the time is right
Go now, find the light

Since you did not give a name or tell if it was a she or a he I will use she! I made this up just now so... hope you like it.
I can only imagine life with out her....
This is life with out her,
but i still can't imagine it.
She was the pathway when i was lost,
She will be in my dreams and in my thoughts,
She was a kindered soul, and had a heavy heart.
When i lost her i feel apart,
I broke out in tears, with a list of emotions that ran so far.
I feelt over whelmed with many thoughts, over this kindered soul I had lost.
When I heard that she had died, i felt a deep feeling of pain inside, I thought she was alive, I thought God gave hope and second tries.
I remember that thought of pain that i felt, when i realized i could'nt help, she was gone her kindered self.
(Kindered Self: @Joshua washburn.)
I would just like to say how much i like kickingupfun's poem!
Your loved one will always in your thoughts, and memories.
Just as you are in thoughts and memories of the people that you love now, that are still here with you.
I would of just said sorry for your lose, but its not my fault.
I could also say "Sorry that you lost some one." Which is more logical, but then i have only put shame on myself.
Yet because I did not lose some one i am sorry???

There is no reason to be sorry, there is life, and then there is death.
You can not live, and expect not to die. With that word of advice I say Peace to you, and yours live a joyeous life.

This beautiful poem was read at my beloved Mom's funeral. It was so fitting for her. Hope it helps. I'm sorry, I don't know its title or author.

You are not dead--Life has but set you free!
Your years of life were not many, but those were like a lovely song.
The last sweet poignant notes of which held long.
Passed into silence while we listened, we who loved you
Listened still expectantly!
And we about you whom you moved among
Would feel that grief for you were surely wrong
You have but passed beyond where we can see
For us who knew you dread of age is past.
You took life tiptoe to the very last.
And courage was surely yours, life never lost for you its lovely look.
You kept your interest in its thrilling book.
To you death came, no conquerer in the end.
You merely smiled to greet another friend.

My condolences on your loss. Here is another site
http://www.bereavement-poems-articles.com/poems/general/117-light-a-candle.php

and here is one of the poems
Light a Candle
by Paul Alexander

"And I will light a candle for you.
To shatter all the darkness and bless the times we knew.
Like a beacon in the night
The flame will burn bright and guide us on our way.
Oh, today I light a candle for you.

The seasons come and go, and I'm weary from the change.
I keep on moving on, you know it's not the same.
And when I'm walking all alone
Do you hear me call your name?
Do your hear me sing the songs we used to sing?

You filled my life with wonder, touched me with surprise,
Always saw that something special deep within your eyes.
And through the good times and the bad,
We carried on with pride.
I hold onto the love and life we knew.

And I will light a candle for you.
To shatter all the darkness and bless the times we knew.
Like a beacon in the night
The flame will burn bright and guide us on our way.
Oh, today I light a candle for you."

There is also a popular poem called "Safely Home" - it's often quoted in sympathy cards, especially Mass Cards. It begins
"I am home in Heaven, dear ones,
Oh so happy and so bright!..."

Don’t Grieve for Me
I am not there......
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there; I did not die.

I'm 13 and love to write poetry. So you came to the right person.
I hope I helped you out for you're lost.Sorry for you're lost.

You were a very decent person
I loved you all the way
At times when you were mad
At times when you were sad
At times when you were happy
We all enjoyed those precious times
But now they're over
But I'll keep you in my heart
I'll keep you in my arms
I'll keep you in my head
And I'll always keep you in my dreams
You'll always be by me
You'll always see me
You'll always be in my dreams
For your lost is sad I know
But one day we'll be together
One day we'll know what happiness once was
And one day we'll reach and catch each other
By the hand

Kahlil Gibran wrote excellent poetry for such occasions. Look at his book THE PROPHET. It should be an excellent source. Sorry about your loss.

Sorry for your loss.

Try the one below. Jackie Kennedy used this Romeo & Juliet segment from Shakespeare when JFK died.

Death Be Not Proud was written by John Donne, a preacher who wrote in the late 1500s and early 1600s.

Death, be not proud, though some have called thee
Mighty and dreadful, for thou art not so;
For those whom thou think'st thou dost overthrow
Die not, poor Death, nor yet canst thou kill me.
From rest and sleep, which but thy pictures be,
Much pleasure; then from thee much more must flow,
And soonest our best men with thee do go,
Rest of their bones, and soul's delivery.
Thou'rt slave to fate, chance, kings, and desperate men,
And dost with poison, war, and sickness dwell;
And poppy or charms can make us sleep as well
And better than thy stroke; why swell'st thou then?
One short sleep past, we wake eternally,
And death shall be no more: Death, thou shalt die.
