I'm pretty sure his wife's sister/s married Southerners and were loyal to the Confederacy during the Civil War.
I don't know if that helps, I just thought it was interesting.

sweety his birthplace was in kentucky and if u look on the web u will find it there i have visited it its neat alot to c also the had to make sure they had a running water yr round stills running also he lived in a very small cabin goodluck gr8 topic
