I have this stupid little thing that reminds me what to do in the case of integers.
Same singns add and keep
Different signs subtract.
Take the sign of the larger number.
Then you'll be excact.
But i still might be wrong.

the question should be 'do you think you're smart'? See, the words 'you' combined with 'are' asks if you are smart...you used the word 'your', which does not ask a question, it makes a posessive statement, such as; "your underwear smell as funky as my dogs farts on a hot summer day, after too many rotten lamb chops".

-(-5.4) makes it positive, i think. so it turns out being 2.3

No sweetie, you've misspelled (your). It should be (YOU'RE) for you are. If you had gone to fourth grade, you would have learned that you're is a contraction for you+are. You see, this is why you need to do your own homework instead of asking strangers to do it for you.
