Most of the time yes, but if your girlfriend asks you "does this make me look fat?" its not always in your best interest to tell the truth. I would say honesty is generally the best policy.

Not always. Honesty is one of those grey areas. Sometimes you need to tell the truth but sometimes a white lie is better. Polite white lies are a social necessity. Plus you could really hurt people by being too honest.

I have to say I think there are times and places where it's best to just keep your mouth shut. For example, if your boss notices you look tired and wants to know if you're feeling well, and you're actually hungover, that's not the time to pipe up with the truth. A smile and a nod would be the best reply.

Not always. Sometimes we need to lie to keep the peace, save a relationship, or keep someone from being hurt. If your friend asked, "Am I fat?" You wouldn't say, "You are HUGE! And look at those rolls. Ugh!" We can't always speak our mind. I think a good rule is to ask whether this lie will hurt or help the person.

I know that a lot of times we lie to spare feelings and what not but in the end it's truely the best. I think I can deal with the awful truth better than if I found out you had lied to me about it. Then we have 2 things to deal with.

it depends. if ur best friend asks if she looks fat and you know it would kill her for you to say she was. Would you? Nope. You should use honesty overall but sometimes you have bend it! HONESTY IS BENDABLE! Or just be really vague!

Most of the time it is. If lying is going to help you...like if you have seen the movie Red Eye where the girl has to lie in order to save people's lives, then you can lie. That is really the only acceptable time.

No. Sometimes it's more important to be nice than too honest, especially if the topic is kind of sensitive.
