"I did not inhale" -Bill Clinton

I don't smoke it, but I think it should be legalized. I don't think the 'drug war' is worth the trouble that it costs compared to the trouble that legal (taxed!) use would cause. This story goes a lot deeper, with the CIA importing cocaine to make money for their secret ops, etc. Another key point is that hemp has been criminalized so that US farmers can't grow it, but our money and our constitution are printed on it. Legalizing marijuana would mean legalizing hemp. That would save a LOT of trees and help cut down on the high-pesticide cotton we use.

Things to make you go "huh"....

Marijuana has many negative effects, but so does alcohol and cigerettes, and if those are legal for recreatinal use, then I can't understand why marijuana should be illegal. It's not a dangerous drug, unless you get behind the wheel or operate heavy machinery, but that is true for all drugs and medication. As a teenager I always got my hands on weed, and never drank alcohol. Why? Because drug dealers don't ID, and they don't sell alcohol.

According to the history channel drugs became illegal as a way of arresting certain races or groups. In the 40s cocaine became illegal to arrest coke crazed black folk. In the 50s they didn't like the Mexicans coming over, and they noticed they smoked pot from time to time, so they used that as an excuse to arrest them (History channel and the movie Grass), and in the 60s they made LSD illegal as an excuse to arrest those pesky protesting hippies.

There are many benificial uses for hemp, and if marijuana is never legalized, then for the love of Pete, at least legalize hemp! You can make paper, plastic, shampoo, clothes, hard hemp (in place of hard wood), and so much more... Not only that but they say that if you use hemp crops in rotation of other crops pesticide problems are far less common. The constitution was written on hemp paper, and the flag was sewn from hemp.

I wish it were legal too.
And yes, I've tried it .. but not anymore.

All I know is that when I used to get high, I'd end up listening to jazz music and doing hard crosswords.

The history is that the Big Oil companies were threatened by hemp (and no, I'm not paranoid, lol). The products that can be made by hemp seems endless.

The billions of dollars we tax payers have spent on The War On Drugs have been a complete waste of our money, our faith in our government and the trust in our peace keepers.

Our society is bending already -- medicinal marijuana is more and more available to those with chronic pain. I mean, what cop is going to arrest an AIDS patient?

Former president Bill Clinton admitted he smoked it.

It simply can no longer be portrayed as a threat to our society ~ and so, fear-based and ignorant laws are moot.

Peace.

I think it should be legalized. I've never tried it but I'm sure I've had contact highs. My roommates use to smoke out at least three times a month - usually more. Alocohol and tobacco is legal so what's wrong with a little recreational use of marijuana?

I really think it should be legalized. If it were then there would be so many fewer people behind bars for having pot in their posession. They prescribe mersol which is pill form of pot to cancer patients, anorexic patients and also for a vairety of other reasons/conditions.
I have smoked it in the past, last time was like 11-12 yrs ago. I guess finding out you are going to have a baby will make you not want to drink or smoke anymore.

I think it should at least be decriminalized. I don't smoke it and don't use it! Health food stores would carry the essential oils if it were
legal. You don't have to smoke it to reap health
benefits from it! All you need is a little of essential oil marijuana put in a vaporizer and that will help epileptics. Marijuana should be
legalized to use under controlled circumstances.

I think they should legalize all drugs cause it’s not stopping it. Prison population will dramatically drop. Burglary will drop. A lot more druggies probably will drop but a few of them lucky enough to live usually come to there senses go get help. Yes I tried marijuana don’t like it.

I think it should...I never used to until I actually tried it for myself. I think it is given a bad image only from those that haven't actually tried it!! You know what they say "dont knock it until you try it" and in this case it's true....I firmly believe that alcohol is worse...not only does it leave you with a hangover on occassion, but those who drink it think they are invincible--they go out and drive, they become addicted to it and sometimes they get angry and cause fights. I guarantee you if you were to have one room filled w/those who smoked pot and those who drank alcohol the one room with the smokers would be very relaxed--they would probably just be hanging out , munching on a few snacks, playing a video game and listening to music...while you have that other room that would be very loud, dancing on tables, possibly getting in fights...and a few of them trying to "drive somewhere"

So to sum it up--yes I've tried it, yes I've liked it, and yes it should be legal (but never will be)

I think it should be legal. I have smoked before, and still do. My grades havn't dropped. I'm not in a gang. I'm not going to start doing crack or something. I smoke responsibly: I don't smoke on school nights or weekends where we have a test on monday.
