I don't think it is criminal, but it is psychologically devastating to those whom have to survive it's after effects. Basically it is a cop out so that those who commit suicide don't have to live up to certain responsibilities for their actions or the repercussions of others actions upon them. Life it tough and we need to be tougher in order to survive it. As far as "mercy killings or state assisted suicides" go, due to an incurable and painful illness or injury, that is another story. As an EMT of 15 years I have seen too much chronic and incurable suffering to let that one slide. I'm not saying that it is right, but it is more acceptible than just plain giving up because you can't handle the pressures of life itself.

No! Suicide isn't a crime, it's just a very sad reality that there aren't enough programs to educate people about mental illnesses. It's a sad ending to a very troubled life circumstance.

No.....for against the principles of the laws of cause an effect who am i to be so bombastically proficient when I forget to tie my own shoelaces that i should know this answer for all of my 32 years in comparative religions.
I do feel this...that whatever hold us(dream I had a so called "Resin of Ambiguity "slips time through time...and we are nurtured by our fortunes and misfortunes. i have not the omnipotence within me to truly answer that...only feeling for the one who suffers and send my energy...and I do this daily for I tried it twice and I know this pain. Not a crime...in the short version of the answer to your query. Not in my life any longer and not on my watch. We ALL have purpose......Thank you for the lovely and evocative question.

No I don't.
My friend committed suicide, and although I still feel guilty and angry, I believe she had a right to decide what to do with her own body and life.
But it would be wrong for me to kill myself, because now I know how much it hurts other people. I don't have the right any more.
Does that make sense?

Absolutely! Suicide is murder of the self.
For example, when a parent with minor children commits suicide, he/she deprives the children of their father or mother. This is definitely wrong. Some people either deliberately or inadvertently kill others when they attempt to kill themselves. That is wrong, too.
Each person is responsible to obtain help so that they do not harm themselves or others.

No. If someone wants to end their life, it's their decision. I'm not supporting suicide, but I don't think it's so terrible that people who commit suicide should be shunned or disgraced after their death.

No, suicide is a sign of unbearably strong pain, it's a sign of extreme illness.

Yes.
Peace of mind is peace of the universe.
Real peace is peace with God, with the world and with oneself.
