If they do, what do they consist of. can they sue for custody of my child if they are threatening to do so?

sorry to say.
they could sue for visitation, however i would not be concerned about losing custody.
situations have to bee pretty extreme before any judge would do that.

If she is threatening to take you to courtroom then the great element you could do is keep a record of her 'psycho' behaviour. Get a mag or diary and write down a log of any activities or incidents in a remember-of-truth descriptive way. If she behaves violently then prepare for a restraining order. Yes they do and yes they can.

A judge can grant them visitation rights, unless you can prove they are unfit to care for your child as grandparents.

They cannot win custody unless they can prove you are an unfit parent.
