Jimmy Carter. It was in 1977 or 1978. Sadat, the ruler of Egypt, and Begin, the leader of Israel, came together to the United States and worked out a plan. There is even a picture of them shaling hands in the rose garden with Carter holding his hands over theirs. God help me, I remember when it happened.

President James Earl Carter, Jr. He initiated the Camp David accords between Egypt's Anwar Sadat and Israel's Menachem Begin in 1978. I kind of remember that happening, even though I was eight-years-old at the time.
