BMI stands for body mass index (also called the Quetlet index). You can calculate it by taking your height in meters divided by your weight in kilograms squared.

To find BMI: take your weight in pounds, multiply by 703.5, then divide by your height in inches, then again divide by your height in inches.

Different sources give different numbers to multiply by: I've also seen it as 700 or 703.
