Please make sure it's really a kidney infection. Most urinary tract infections are really just bladder infections, and can be treated with oral antibiotics at home. Kidney infections (pyelonephritis) are a much more serious infection that often requires hospitalization and intravenous antibiotics. In addition, it can be confused with kidney stones because of the similar symptoms and pains. If you really have a kidney infection, and it's being treated but still hurts, there really isn't much that can help. Laying down and being still might, and you're right that a heating pad does work for some people. Good luck!

I hope you've been to the doc. I take Excedrin for any type of pain, but I don't know if that would be good for you or not. A prescription should knock out the infection pretty quickly and hopefully you won't be in pain too long. Pamper yourself and try to sleep. Good luck.

oh boy.

Drink Aloe Juice
Drink Cranberry Juice
Take Uva Ursi - will coat your kidney

first of all. remove anything that causes inflammation:
* milk - replace with rice/almond/little bit of soy/goat
* meat - replace with sauteed tempeh and salmon
* wheat/flour - get whole grains like buckwheat, amaranth, brown rice, quinoa, oats. don't have wheat again
* sugar - get stevia drops
* caffiene - get green powder supplement (will do good for you I've had pylonifritis myself - take 1 dose in AM)
* margarine - replace hydrogenated anything with only Olive Oil. pour it on all your foods - won't cause weight gain as long as your diet is working for you. organic olive oil is best - hate to tell you this, but the rest on the shelves is rancid, exposed to too much heat, light and on shelf too long.
* do eat vegetables - as much raw as you can take, especially green leafies

Replace any antibiotics you are taking with these. Antibiotics build up resistance and allow infection to get to your kidney in the first place. Try not to rely on antibiotics even if you have yeast infection - tell your doctor you want bactroban cream to apply topically instead of antibiotic capsules. Also if you take any of these, your yeast infection will diminish:
* Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid Powder) - cheapest - you can get 1000 mg at your pharmacy take 5 times a day
* Astragalus Extract 500 mg
* Beta 1,3-D Glucan 100mg (Beta 1,3-D Glucan has demonstrated powerful antioxident properties which have been shown to benefit the immune system. It activates very strong immune responses to work like "Pac-men" against viral, bacterial, fungal, parasitic and neoplastic invaders. It also has potent anti-oxidant and free radical scavenging capabilities.)
* Uva Ursi Ext 200mg (For urinary and kidney)
* D-Mannose Plus
* Oregano Oil
* Grapefruit Seed Extract 125 mg (very good one)
* Olive Leaf Extract, 500mg

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.

They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!

This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.

It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.

Dear Tara, Please consume more and more water, so that any stone like thing will pass off in urine. It is necessary to consume more water whenever antibiotics or other medicines are taken. Please take "Berberus Vulgaris" Homoeo Medicine in Mother Tincture 5 drops in half cup of water, three times daily, which will reduce the pain. Next time you go to Doctor please get your "Creatinine also tested in Blood". That will indicate if there is anything serious about kidneys. Take more fluids and see that urine is passed freely and in bulk. May you become better at the earliest . with love, your friend.
